Tilikum, known to be a loving creature became the hottest topic recently of how this once thought easy to train sea mammal would be involved in many killings.
Last Wednesday, Tilikum attacked it’s own trainer at Shamu Stadium and now being considered as a dangerous animal by the staff at SeaWorld Orlando.
Tillikum, was nicknamed “”Tilly” before this incident happened. Trainers were prohibited to go swimming or even train this well recognized whale for fears that it could strikes someone again.
SeaWorld Orlando, became the next home for Tilikum after the 1991 incident involved Keltie Bryne, a 20-year-old whale trainer that time. It is said that the whale grabbed Bryne as she fell into the pool and eventually got drowned.
In July 1999, a man was found dead and naked near Tilikum’s pool.
As of today, whales are considered very dangerous mammals and these incidents should serve as constant remiders to us that they are indeed wild and could take our lives in an instant.
