Nokia Siemens Networks Acquired Motorola Wireless Network for $1.2B

Nokia Siemens Networks, regarded as one of the largest telecommunications equipment suppliers in the world, bought Motorola Wireless Network unit for $1.2B last July 19, 2010 and the acquisition will be completed at the end of the year.

According to reports, there are about 7,500 employees from Motorola Wireless networks that will join Nokia Siemens Networks when the deal is completed.

Motorola co-Chief Executive Greg Brown said in an interview: “We talked to a few different potential acquirers, but Nokia Siemens made the most sense financially, strategically and from a people and culture standpoint.”

The latest development in Nokia Siemens Networks will leave them Ericsson and China’s Huawei as their top competitors.
