Though it seems difficult for him to save their marriage, Yap assured he would never give up his rights over their 3-year-old son Baby James. He disclosed that he has already filed a motion before the court to secure his visitation rights.

Yap narrated that on July 30, the last time he saw Baby James, he received a text message from Aquino, saying he cannot see their son until the court decides on her petition to nullify their marriage. “Sinubukan ko siyang ma-contact, pati ang mga yaya ng bata, pero di ko na sila ma-contact…,” the cager lamented.

Lawyer Lorna Kapunan, Yap’s legal counsel said though Aquino has recently switched plans and finally allowed Yap to visit Baby James, they still have to bring it to the court.

“Kahit na pumayag na siya (Aquino), kailangan pa ring dalhin sa court… she cannot do it on her own terms,” Kapunan said. “We want to make sure that James will be allowed to visit Baby James twice a week, to spend overnights with his son, and to travel to Negros Occidental with him.”

The cager, likewise, lamented that Aquino, in her petition, demanded to change the last name of their son. But he stressed that he will not allow it.

“As a father, talagang di pwede iyon. Siyempre anak ko iyon eh, bakit ako papayag?”

Yap has this message for his son: “Baby James, ginagawa ko ito para sa iyo. Miss na miss na kita. Gusto na kitang makita… I miss you, I love you.”
