UFC 117 Results. Anderson Silva emerged as the Champion in the UFC 117 middleweight Championship versus Chael Sonnen at the Oracle Arena, CA. The fight showed how determined Silva is on defending his UFC championship belt and the fight went into the fifth round when Sonnen tapped the referee with 3:10 remaining thru submission.
Early in the fight, Sonnen was dominating and beating Silva and almost anyone can notice that the referee is leaning in to see if the fight should be stopped. But in the fifth round, Sonnen was caught in a submission and tapped the referee with 3:10 left in the fifth.
The victory is already the 12 straight win for Silva and also a UFC record. He has held the Middleweight Championship Title since October 2006.
