Tracy McGrady is now a Detroit Pistons player! He has signed with the team agreeing with a 1 year contract with $1.3 million salary (minimum salary for NBA veterans).
McGrady is expected to be a reserve player that will play shooting guard when the NBA 2010-2011 begins. The success of acquiring him will depend on his injury and health. Last season, he only averaged 9.4 points in 24 games for the New York Knicks.There are some speculations that McGrady’s acquisition will play a big role when the team decided to trade Tayshaun Prince or Rip Hamilton (although it’s only a rumor). Detroit Pistons badly need a big player to help Ben Wallace and rookie Greg Monroe to tighten up the defense.
